The Michigan State Police recently held the groundbreaking ceremony for a new communications and dispatch facility in Negaunee Township that will be shared with Marquette County Central Dispatch. The new building will be nearly 6,000 square feet which is more than five times the size of the current facility—estimated at a more than $4 million project.
“Our current technology has become outdated and building this new facility will give us state-of-the-art technology to be able to put into the hands of our dispatchers, to be able to provide a better support service for our troopers, which ultimately provides better service to the citizens of the state of Michigan,” said Captain Troy Allen. The Michigan State Police and Marquette County Central Dispatch are planning on moving into the building in January 2023. Read more here.
