U.S. snowboarders Nick Baumgartner (an Iron River native) and Lindsey Jacobellis made history<\/a> after winning gold at the mixed team snowboard cross event in Beijing. The two made record books for their win at the first-ever mixed team snowboard cross competition. The win gives Baumgartner his first gold ever, making him the oldest snowboarder to win a medal of any hue at an Olympic Winter Games.
