Veridea Group selected to be the master developer for former Marquette hospital site

The NMU Foundation selected Marquette-based real estate developer Veridea Group as the master developer for the former hospital site. The NMU Foundation issued a RFQ on March 11, 2022, which was open to developers across the nation of all sizes and locations until April 8, 2022. With 180 views of the RFQ, the foundation formally partnered with Veridea Group. Additionally, the NMU Foundation has been working with the City of Marquette, Marquette Brownfield Development Authority, and the MEDC to identify public resources required for demolition and site preparation. With housing being a community-wide concern, Veridea Group CEO Bob Mahaney shared housing plans for the development and pledged to conduct additional community engagement as part of the development planning process.

“There’s a strong housing component to the plan with a wide array of housing products,” said Mahaney. “From townhouses to bungalows, to residential rental apartments, housing geared toward young faculty and grad students. There is also a senior living component which we are really excited about.” Read more here.
